Do you know a young person who loves to perform? Taunton Brewhouse are on the lookout for 24 people aged between 9 and 17 years to join the Youth Ensemble for their upcoming festive show, A Christmas Carol.
A key element of each seasonal production at Taunton Brewhouse, the Youth Ensemble will work closely with a professional cast and creative team to take audiences on a magical journey through the past, present and future.
Audiences will meet the heartless Ebeneezer Scrooge as he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, and three spirits – each with an important message. Will they persuade Scrooge to change his miserly ways, or will he be doomed… forever?
Inspired by Charles Dickens’ classic yuletide tale, and gleefully adapted for the stage by the acclaimed Pleasure Dome Theatre Company, this joyous retelling will fright and delight audiences of all ages. Expect enchanting puppetry, original music, and a sprinkling of Somerset magic, directed by award-nominated theatremaker Scott Le Crass.
This year’s Youth Ensemble will play a number of roles across the production, with some young people being cast in the following named roles (in addition to other parts): Tiny Tim / Belinda / Young Scrooge / Young Fan / Adolescent Fan / Martha / Daughter / Peter.
Applications close at midnight on Thursday 11 May 2023 so be sure to get your application in soon. Any questions? Please contact the Ensemble Producer via [email protected].
A Christmas Carol runs at Taunton Brewhouse from 4-30 December.
